Our Mission
Amada Women’s Initiative is a 501(c)(3) organization that aims to educate and empower women and children out of poverty in Siguatepeque, Honduras.
Each of our initiatives (Amada artisans and vocational training, Tiny Hope Primary Christian School, Amada Trauma Counseling) are platforms for sharing the power of God’s Word and the hope and healing that only He can provide.
In addition, our reach extends to provide clean water, sustainable housing, and educational advancement through our partnership with other local organizations. We believe in serving each other by meeting real physical and spiritual needs. A truly valued person is the beginning of real and sustainably transformed communities.
Founders
Jenny Venghaus, Lindsay Ellis, and Kristen Stedham collaborated for the vision of Amada over a deep burden for the women and families living in poverty in Honduras, as well as a shared love of the Word of God. As busy moms and inexperienced business women, they are often quoted as “who ever told us we could run a non-profit?!” Yet one thing among many that this venture has taught them is that if God is in it, you can’t stop it!
Staff
Our Team
Artisans
Mostly single mothers living without running water or electricity, working with Amada is transforming the lives of our beautiful artisans and their families. Your purchase is changing lives.
Tiny Hope Staff
From administrative assistants, teachers, assistant teachers, kitchen staff and bus drivers, we seek to develop the intellectual and social skills of our children to their full potential (and have a little fun while we do it!). Most importantly, we introduce them to the hope of the Gospel… to a Savior that loves them, and has a plan and purpose for their life.
Training Center
Our vocational teachers equip women from vulnerable backgrounds with a variety of occupational skills as a pathway to dignified and sustainable income. Ranging from sewing and jewelry design, to management and computer skills, we aim to provide women with employable skills and opportunities.
